TALKS # 24 - LEARNING SWEDISH

ok, don't be afraid ... it will not be IN swedish ... actually just one song is not in english, but anyway, it's more ABOUT sweden ... well, honestly it's more about my affinition to sweden =D so maybe i should call it learning nico ... =D anyway, sweden has a great influence on me. i was surprised that a lot of the songs i actually listen to are from swedish bands. but the swedish infiltration of my innocent brain started back in my childhood days - maybe sweden can be blamed for me being this weird ;D
anyway, i loved astrid lindgrens books ... pippi longstocking of course, karlson!!!, the kids of bullerbü, michel, ronja, the kids from summer in saltkrokan ... those were the kids i really would have loved to grow up with, not this bunch of boring brickheads i had to deal with ;D ... i always liked that the swedes are the liberal and openminded people they are, it's a funny folk and the girls are beautiful ... hey, and they brought porn to germany, in the early sixties, they are so openminded ;D

but speaking of beautiful girls ... of course i forgot something again: i didn't mention the swedish football team ... very good players AND absolute eyecandy ;D

and we have a saying over here (time to do one of my famous translations again). so when you want to say that you just had a jawdropping moment, we say "alter schwede" i don't know why, but we do it. so because of the beautiful swedish football-ladies and because i think i did a really nice job with this one it is called old suede

songs in order of appearance:

crucified - army of lovers the video!!

super trouper - abba

young folks - peter, bjorn and john

my favourite game - the cardigans

it's not the fall that hurts - caesars

let's make history - the (international) noise conspiracy

roxette - the look

the comeback - shout out louds

you are the light by which i travel - jens lekman (thanx 2 mag)

you can't steal my heart - mando diao

pippi langstrumpf theme
